20" X 16" Original Oil Painting £250Purchase Enlarge Doreen was an artist of many talents including illustrating and designing greetings card as well as illustrating many books. She enjoyed painting in watercolours as well as oils, but oils were her main and favoured medium.
Her main subject to paint was animated teddy bears and as these proved extremely popular she had a number of these published, this increased the interest in her originals and hence the value increased

Doreen worked for many years as an art teacher but spent her later years painting with the expertise of her three young grand-daughters to guide her in the composing of pictures. They also lent their own teddies for models.
